Bethelview Methodist Church observes the following special events.

Easter Sunrise Service and Breakfast

On Easter Sunday, Bethelview family and friends gather for a special worship service at Sunrise at the church cemetery. Our pastor reads the timeless story of that first Easter morn from the Bible and gives a devotion. Those gathered sing the beautiful songs of Easter-“Christ Arose” and “He Lives.” The United Methodist Women (UMW) sponsor the breakfast that follows the Easter Sunrise Service. We are thankful for the good cooks who prepare a delicious country breakfast with country ham, eggs, gravy, grits, homemade biscuits, hash browns and all the works! Both the Sunrise Service and Breakfast are well attended.

United Methodist Women (UMW) Sister Supper

UMW Sister Supper is held each year in August. The UMW members come together for a covered dish meal. The UMW members share this meal with potential members or special women we wish to honor with a special meal and time of fellowship. We have a guest speaker at these suppers.

Revival

Revival services are held in the spring and fall each year. During each season we have a three-day revival with special music each evening.  On the final night of revival, a covered dish meal is enjoyed prior to the service.

Pinto Bean Suppers

Twice each year (first Saturday in May and the last Saturday in September), Bethelview has two major fundraisers in the form of Pinto Bean Suppers sponsored by the United Methodist Women. Bethelview has become well known for the good food at these suppers. Two of our church members begin cooking the pinto beans at the church at ten o’clock the day of the supper, and the beans cook all day. About three o’clock, these gracious cooks will start baking the cornbread in order to be ready to begin serving at five o’clock. Meanwhile, the other ladies of the church have been busy at home preparing all sorts of potato dishes, macaroni and cheese, fruit cobblers and other desserts. The menu also includes coleslaw, onions and beverages (soft drinks, tea, coffee). Takeouts are also available. The cost of the supper is donation only. Proceeds from the Suppers are used for outreach, facilities enhancements and support of other projects in the church and community.
